The Apparel Logistics Group Sponsoring Apparel Tech Conference at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising

Great news here at The Apparel Logistics Group: We’re going to Disneyland! Or, at least, we’re going to the apparel logistics equivalent of the happiest place on earth.

Recently, we announced that we'll heading out west in March to participate in the upcoming 2012 Apparel Tech Conference at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles.

The conference is basically one of the apparel industry's preeminent events (not to, er, brag or anything, but it's kind of a big deal). Sessions will focus on supply chain management, design, PLM, ERP, all-channel retail, information technology, mobility and more – in other words, the bulk of the third party logistics services we provide to apparel companies around the world.

Here's why we're going and why we're proud to -- for the first time in the five-year history of the event -- to be participating as a "Gold Sponsor” (again, we can’t help but brag).

According to our Vice President Kirk Longo: "Over the past few years, this event has grown to become an invaluable opportunity for the apparel industry to come together and hear from leaders about vital issues and technologies and to take advantage of outstanding peer-to-peer networking opportunities with both leading technology vendors and apparel and retail executives, so we're delighted to be exhibiting here and we're looking forward to meeting new people to discuss our supply chain solutions and to visiting with current clients who will be attending."

Convention visitors -- from major retailers to independent specialty stores and everything in between -- who stop by our booth will be able to get an up-close look at our unique methodologies and apparel supply chain management techniques. We'll also demonstrate how we integrate cutting edge technology into our services, and how our automated facilities can help apparel companies lower supply chain costs, improve their speed-to-market, and gain a critical edge over their competition.

For example, we’ll demonstrate how our automated facility can speedily update inventories on receipt, including item master details, and shorten the process from days to minutes – without sacrificing critical operational flexibility. We’ll also demonstrate how we can automate certain vendor compliance requirements.

While there, we also hope to learn from our own friends and competitors at the conference in order to that we can provide more effective 3rd party apparel logistics services and more efficient apparel supply chain management for our clients and customers. And we're excited to be helping other 3PL companies provide these services as well. Simply put, a more efficient, more cost-effective apparel industry benefits all American apparel consumers. We're thrilled to be going.
